Start of the year update

Happy new year everyone!

I know I’m slightly late, but as I mentioned in my last post I have moved house and it has been very busy here for the past 2 weeks. Finally, I am mostly settled in, just need to start decorating! If anyone has any ideas for decoration or any posts on it please leave them in the comments! I would love to get some idea’s, especially for my little girl’s room!

M has a very big room now, and not a lot in there just now! I’m very excited to start filling it with things he will love. He has also learned how to say ‘ I want a drink…Pleeeaaasseee’ which I think is great since he is only 17 months old!! He had a great Christmas and was spoiled by everyone around him, I’m going to get him to write some thank you notes (and by that I mean I will write him, and he will sign with squiggles and kisses).

E is doing fine, and I am going to start doing weekly posts about how she is doing, for her own section. I’m very excited that she can look back on it one day and read about herself, and I totally wish I could have done it with M! I have my final scan on the 24th of January, and I’m very excited, not only because I get to see her, but also because her Nana does too!! She got to see M’s scan at 16 weeks when we found out his gender, but this pregnancy we actually kept secret until after we found out she, was a she!

As for me, I am working hard to get the house ready. I have moved from a very small 2-bed with no storage, to a large 3-bed with lots of storage! meaning I finally have a lot of space and can start buying things for E for when she comes, as I could only get the small things before. I’m also working on a few assignments for college, which are totally kicking my butt, so my social life is suffering a little, however, I’m working hard towards my goals.

what about you? whats the start of 2018 brought for you?

I bet you’re excited about the summer then! I’m very happy with my move, the only downside is my kitchen which is very cold no matter what I do!! I’m thinking thick curtains across the back door next!! x

  3. What an exciting year ahead you’ve got! We’re about to move my son into a big room at 19 months to make way for number two; I’m excited but it also feels like another step in them growing up doesn’t it?!

    1. Lauren says:

It does! M went into his own room at 9 months old, and I stayed awake all night! Now I’m glad he is in his own room, with number 2 on the way in less than 3 months!! x

It is so difficult getting a good balance between working towards a goal / work and then spending time with friends. My year goals always include something that is work / study orientated. Good luck with your course.

It really is. I thought I was managing fine until one of my deadlines caught up on me! Time to get my head down I think!

  5. Romeca says:

Congratulations on the move lovely! We’ve actually done the opposite and moved from a large 3 bedroom to a tiny 2 bedroom haha x

    1. Lauren says:

Sorting out the house is my top priority fo 2018, I really got into Konmari last year and this year will be about putting it all into practise!xo

    1. Lauren says:

Ive never heard of Konmari! what is it? im going to have a google! x

  7. Sarah Hughes says:

Storage is something our house lacks so we have to get a bit creative! I have been working on minimising the amount of stuff we own which has really helped to create space and makes us a lot happier!

    1. Lauren says:

I threw a lot of things out when I moved, but I seem to have more now than I started with, and I’ve only been here two weeks!! x

  8. Rachael says:

My main aim for this year is to get the house sorted! Especially since having Teddy, our home looks like a toy shop has exploded all over it. I need a trip to Ikea and pick up some more storage!

    1. Lauren says:

Storage is always an issue with toys! M has a toy basket, a toy box, and various toys placed around the room too!! x

  9. I’ve been doing alot of planning to ensure I’m more organised this year.

I want to save more, I want to not feel so frazzled and make more time for myself. I want to go out more and I want to put more time into my blog to help it grow even more this year.

oh and did I mention SAVE SAVE SAVE lol

    1. Lauren says:

Me too! saving is definitely on the list, as well as growing this blog!! x
